“The myth of beauty”
This work was influenced by a Mexican clay mask which had an image on both the inside and outside. The cast glass has an image of Aphrodite on the outside and an image of myself on the inside, representing 'the ideal' and 'the real'. It is supported on a mirror stand, as in medieval art Aphrodite was often represented holding a mirror reflecting her beauty.
